![]() Welcome to the 5FE Home Page! Hopefully you had a great summer. I look forward to meeting you all! To help prepare yourself for 5th grade math, it would be great if you practiced your basic facts. By the beginning of fifth grade you should be able to answer any addition, subtraction, and multiplication basic fact(up to 10x10) in just a few seconds. You should also be working on the division basic facts. Knowing these basic facts really well can make a huge difference in how well you are able to do in Math.

Calculators from the supply list are difficult to find, as many of you know. We recently obtained enough of them for a class set in each of the 5th grade math rooms. So, it is not necessary to purchase one for your child. If you already have one and you want your child to have their own here at school, that is fine. You could also keep it at home for use on homework. |
![]() No homework? Bored? Thirsty for knowledge?
You can always...
Read a book, magazine, newspaper or even literature/articles on the Internet. Remember to keep track of the minutes you read for your Reading Calendar!
Study your spelling list. Practice your spelling and handwriting at the same time by writing the words from the spelling list in your best handwriting.
Create your own math practice problems or ask someone to make some for you. |
