Welcome to 5th Grade Reading and Social Studies! 

This year's Reading focus is on comprehension.  We will be improving our comprehension by improving our fluency and vocabulary and by reading a lot.  Every 5th grader is challenged to read 40 chapter books during the school year. 

During Social Studies, students will be studying History from the time of the Native Americans crossing the land bridge up to the Civil War.  Our units include Native Americans, Explorers, and Government.

All fifth graders spend approximately 75 minutes each day in 5RL.
