INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS

Leading to Your Future Career Success


3-Part Work Based Program

  • Internship Seminar - Students study career-related topics as well as conduct student organization activities and prepare for competition.
  • Student Organization - Students develop leadership and career skills, and civic awareness through participation in local, regional, state, and national projects, officer elections, and competitions.
  • Internship Job - students work in a career-related paid position in an area business under the supervision of the employer and Internship Coordinator.

Internship Requirements/Registration Process

  • Application - Students apply during their junior year and are interviewed and selected for the internship program.  Application forms are available in the Guidance Office, Career Center, or from an Internship Coordinator. 
  • Scheduling - Students have the option of attending a full day of school or they may be relased during Period 4.  Most students are enrolled in their required courses for 12th grade, the related seminar class, and electives of their choice.  It is highly recommended to be in the Internship PRogram for the full school year.
  • Credits - Students receive three credits: 1/2 credit each trimester for the seminar and 1/2 credit each trimester for the internship job.
  • Transportation - Students must provide their own transportation to and from the internship job site.

The Business Internship Program gives students a "winning edge" in the competitive world of Business by teaching what they need to know to survive and succeed in the years ahead.  Sample occupations for which students are training include:
