MIssion Statement:
The mission of the Anoka-Hennepin School District's ESL Department, in a climate of honor and respect, is to advocate for and empower English Learners to be responsible, productive and integral community members. In our program, students will understand:
•English is used to communicate for a variety of purposes in social, cultural and academic settings.
•English language strategies support academic achievement in content areas.
•English language mastery requires proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
•U.S. schools and culture have structure, resources, procedures and acceptable behavior.
