Welcome to the Rum River Elementary Volunteer Opportunities web site.

My name is Debie Brink and I'm the Volunteer Services Coordinator. I can be reached at either or call me at 763-506-8230.

My hours during the school year are: 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, 11:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Friday.  Use the "Contact Volunteer Services" link on the left to contact me via email.
Volunteering is a great way to be involved in your child's education. Research shows that when parents are involved at school, children do better in their studies and have a more positive attitude toward school. We have many fun activities planned this year including family events like Ice Cream for Books and Numbers, Winter Fest, and a school carnival. There is also Rum River Against Hunger and PE Fun Day in the spring.

We have volunteer opportunities during the day, evening, and even jobs to take home. Volunteering can fit any schedule. If you are available during school hours, you may want to speak with your child's teacher about helping in the classroom.

Before you can begin volunteering, you will need to complete a Volunteer Application Form and a Criminal Record History Release Form and return them to school. The Anoka-Hennepin School District requires that we have both of these forms on file for each volunteer who comes into the school. This is one of the procedures we have in place to help assure the safety of our students, staff and volunteers. The forms are valid for only one year, so even if you completed one last year we do need new forms for each year. You may get forms in the school office, by contacting me, or download them from this website. They only take a minute to complete.

Your volunteer support is very much appreciated by all of the Rum River staff. Thank you for sharing your time and talent with our students.
