Hello Madison Volunteers,
I have mixed feelings as I announce my resignation from the Volunteer Services Coordinator position at Madison Elementary. I have truly enjoyed working with all of you, and I will miss my Madison Family.
I have accepted a position as a Parent Involvement Specialist with Anoka Hennepin School District. I will be working to promote parenting and volunteering as well as managing the Parent Resource Center at the office on Ferry Street in Anoka.
I would like to thank each of you for welcoming me when I started last year, for being such great volunteers and for making a difference here at Madison Elementary.
Madison Elementary Volunteer Program
Anoka-Hennepin School District requires that volunteers complete the application process each school year. This paperwork is necessary if you plan to help in the classroom, attend field trips, or help with evening events like the Spring Carnival and Track & Field Day. Please note: Field trip chaperones, challenge reading and math plus leaders and book fair workers require additional processing by the volunteer coordinator.
Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities
Watch D.O.G.S.: We are happy to announce that Madison Elementary has adopted this wonderful program to increase the number of positive male role models in our students’ lives. Watch D.O.G.S. are fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and any other father figures who volunteer at least one day a year in our school. Watch your student’s backpack for a flyer with more info!
Open House Folder Stuffing: We need volunteers to help prepare the folders for open house. We will work in the cafeteria on Tuesday, August 26 at 10:00AM.
Lunchroom Helpers: We ask our volunteers to help in the lunchroom during the first two weeks of school. Our kindergarten and first grade classes are grateful for the extra help with lunch trays, pin numbers and opening the milk! Watch for a sign up in August when the lunch schedule is set.
Thank you for volunteering your time and talent at Madison Elementary!
