The HIKE FOR IKE is one of our school’s annual fundraisers. It is organized by our active PTO. Students are encouraged to obtain pledges to support their one to two mile walk on our 15 acres. This event helps to raise money for various school needs as well as promote health and wellness for all our children.Eisenhower students have a wide variety of activities in which they may participate. These activities include Bango for Books, Eisenhower School Carnival, Family Fun Nights, Book Fairs, various Talent Development classes, Techsperts, School Choir, Art Displays, and Community Education classes. Our fourth and fifth grade students hold leadership roles throughout our school, serving as school safety patrols, student ambassadors, reading buddies for younger children, Techsperts and morning news broadcasters.

The Allied Arts provide a major focus at Eisenhower. Students are involved in school-wide music programs. They are given the opportunity to act, sing, and dance, as well as aid in the construction of the sets. Our school also holds monthly celebration assemblies which support our building goals of increasing student achievement in reading, writing, and math. A specific grade level is featured each month, sharing choral readings, poetry and music. Monthly birthdays are celebrated and selected students are recognized as our SHINING STARS for following Eisenhower’s five behavior expectations:

Respect all people and property.

Strive to do your best every day.

Be prepared.

Be responsible for your own behavior.

Work and play safely.

Our school theme song, “Responsible” links directly to our school motto: Eisenhower School- where responsibility achieves success. Our school colors are red, white, and blue. The students know their most important job at school is to be responsible learners. For optimal learning to occur, the Eisenhower staff seeks to have the following components in place in each classroom every day:

Engagement

Safe environment

Constructive and timely feedback

Reflection and action on feedback

Meaningful practice

Modeling Collaboration

Humor

Accomodation for individual learners

Purposeful assessment

Variety of learning opportunities

Each day we welcome parent and community volunteers into our building. We believe it takes the combined responsibility of our students, their families, our volunteers, and our teachers and support staff to achieve consistent success in learning for all our children. We invite you to visit our school and participate in the encouragement and support of our young learners.
