We are very excited to welcome
L.O. Jacob Elementary School families to our school!

Incoming L.O. Jacob parents and students are invited to join us at our April 8th PTO meeting at 6:00 for a tour of Mississippi Elementary and to ask any questions you have about the move to your new school. Come to the PTO meeting after the tour to meet other Mississippi parents and students! L.O. Jacob families are also welcome to join us at any of our upcoming community events (see our Important Dates At Mississippi link at left).

About Mississippi Elementary

Less than a mile from the Mississippi River, Mississippi Elementary is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood in southwest Coon Rapids. The school was built in 1961.

The excellent Mississippi Elementary staff serves 440 students. We are focused on meeting the needs of each student.

The parents of Mississippi Elementary students are wonderful volunteers who make this school a true community!

Like the river, Mississippi School is always moving and changing to make a difference in the lives of our students.

Temperature Guidelines
The guideline for keeping children inside for recess is 0 degree temperature or 10 degrees below zero wind chill. Accommodations for children with special medical needs can be made with the Health Services office; written documentation from a doctor will be required.
