SEXUAL/RACIAL/RELIGIOUS HARASSMENT/VIOLENCE - STUDENT POLICY
It is the policy of Anoka-Hennepin School District to strive for a learning environment for the students that is free from sexual, racial, and religious harassment and violence. This policy will be enforced before, during, and after school hours on all school property, including the school bus, school functions, and events held at other locations. Any action toward or by a student of this District to harass through conduct or communication of a sexual, racial, or religious nature or to inflict, threaten to inflict or attempt to inflict sexual, racial, or religious violence as defined herein shall be a violation of this policy.
Sexual, racial or religious violence is a physical act of aggression that includes a sexual act or purpose, or a physical aggression based on a person’s race, gender or religion.
In carrying out this policy, the School District recognizes that sexual, racial, and religious harassment are subject to School District Equal Educational Opportunity policies and applicable state and federal laws. Sexual, racial, and religious violence is criminal activity subject to civil penalties under Minnesota Statute 609.341.
The School District will act to investigate all complaints, either formal or informal, verbal or written, of sexual, racial, religious harassment/violence, and take appropriate action against any person who is found to have violated this policy.
