Champlin Park has had many inventive students and community members do special things for The Shelf. Here are their ideas. -3 students for government class canvased their neighborhoods asking for food donations. -A title company is saving all of their ink cartridges for us to sell for school supplies for our students in need. -1 mom won a contest for us and CPHS received hundreds of granola bars. She also contributes through her couponing and her website where she encourages other couponers to donate extra food and supplies. -Several Champlin Park Alumni had a garage sale and donated all the proceeds to The Shelf. -The Boys Wrestling team held a food drive during their meet. -Bantam Boys Hockey did a coat drive and helped over 100 students with winter clothing. -1 student collected food and money for her confirmation project. -Champlin United Methodist washed 40 bags of our lost and found clothing. -Tonia's Tots Daycare did a compassion project by getting donations from the neighborhood. -Oxbow Creek School asked students and parents to donate their unwanted school supplies at the end of the school year for us to reburbish and give away to students in need. -Girls Scout troupes donated excess cookies to The Shelf. -CPHS Parents made cookies and boxed them to give out in holiday baskets. -St. Gerard's Church sponsored 25 families during the holidays with gifts. |
