Hello from Anoka Middle School for the Arts, Washington Campus. My name is Kathy Baufield and I am one of the two assistant principals at AMSA's sixth grade campus.  Welcome!

The Washington Campus provides middle level programming, curriculum, and activities in a 6th-grade-only setting.  The transition from elementary to secondary school is a complex process. Moving from room to room, elective courses, lockers, even lunches are different at the secondary level.  At the Washington Campus, our staff is expert at working with this age group and creating a smooth transition from elementary to middle school.  Our students are also able to make this educational leap without the worry of upper-classmen. 

In addition, AMSA is an arts specialty school that provides exceptional arts courses, extra-curricular activities, and experiences in four strands: literary arts, performing arts, technical (media) arts, and visual arts.  Students attend our school by virtue of their home address, or by application through the NorthWest Suburban  Integration District's magnet schools application process, which is also available on the home page of this site.
