Welcome to University Avenue

Dear Families of University Ave. ACES,

Welcome to University Ave. ACES (Aerospace, Children's Engineering, and Science). Our specialty school located in Blaine, MN serves 580 students.

Students who attend our school will receive approved Anoka Hennepin Curriculum, but will have an added focus on aerospace and engineering. To assist in the planning and implementation of our program, we have established partnerships with the Anoka County Airport, Jackson Middle School Observatory, NASA, The Space Foundation, and the Civil Air Patrol. Students will learn about aerospace and engineering in and outside of school. Field trips will be designed to be hands on learning experiences that increase background knowledge and enrich the learning happening at school.

We are excited about providing a unique education, inspiring students to explore, discover, and understand the world in which we live.

Sincerely, Dr. Anissa Cravens

4th Grade students have been participating in the Grail MoonKAM Project.  They are studying the geology of the earth and moon, craters, and meteorites.  Students select a target area on the lunar surface and send a request for photo to the Grail MoonKAM center.  Photos are taken taken by the cameras onboard the Grail satellites.  Click here to see images students at University Avenue have taken.
