This page is intended to provide an email or text message (via mobile message) to subscribers on whether our schools are in session or not during inclement weather.
If buses can run dependably and routes are deemed safe, schools will remain open. Info on school closings due to weather is also available on the district and school websites, Facebook or Twitter and TV/radio reports. If school is canceled or delayed, a greeting detailing such news will also be shared on every district phone.
Note: Check with individual schools on the status of specific activities. Those responsible for activities scheduled in schools over the weekend determine whether or not an activity will be held if weather is a concern.
Please note: We typically send closing messages right after district administration makes the announcement, which is about 5:30 a.m. However, the timing of when a subscriber receives the alert is dependent on their mail server and if it accepts the message right away. If it doesn't, our mail servers keep trying to send the message until it gets through (which may take several attempts, causing a delay in receipt).
If you haven't received a message by 6 a.m. on a day where we're watching weather closely, then you should check the district or a school website, or one of our social media pages (Facebook or Twitter). If there is no weather-related message on these sites, then school is in session for that day.
