CBPA STEM Fair Thursday, January 10th, 2013 6:00-7:30 PM |
We will be hosting our Second annual STEM Fair January 10, 2013. This event is open to all students K-5. Students can work alone, in pairs or with a group of three. The teams do not need to be in the same class or even the same grade. There are two types of projects students can complete. One is an Inquiry project or experiment, the other is an engineering project. You can download the information sheets below that describe the process for both projects. There will be an Information Night on Thursday, November 29th, 5:30-6:30 PM. This is for students and their families to learn about resources, projects, and more. We will also provide the display board to those who would like one. You can download the invitation/RSVP to this event below. To see a list of additional resources click HERE! |
The CBPA STEM Fair is not your average Science Fair! Science Fairs of the past have really been made up of research type projects like How does a volcano blow? or How does a hearing aid work? As neat as these projects are, the studenst aren't really conducting experiments. For a STEM Fair the project must either be an engineering project- much like an invention to solve an everyday problem OR an experiment conducted over time. Investigatable questions for expirements will fit this format: How does A compare to B? or How does X affect Y? | ||||
