TASK 1:Provide a forecast of what the workforce demand would be over a five-year period to produce and market your team’s technical application or process. Include the impact such production would have on the marketplace.

The workforce will be minimized through automation.

1)  Laborer:  10 each:  Pulp cuts sheets will be purchased to sized to minimize labor.  A majority of the labors force will be used to package the product, and ship.

2)  Technical Staff:  3 each:  Robots will reduce labor to a bare minimum, and work force will be highly trained individuals.

3)  Management Staff:  1 each:  The owner will superise the entire team.

4)  Engineering Staff:  1 each:  One engineer will manage all specification and blue prints.

Impact on the market place:  The market will grow due to increase plastic costs, and and ecologically freindly product will help the earth.

TASK 2: Give two examples of undergraduate or graduate degree programs in science or engineering that directly relate to your team's NCT technical application. For each program, be sure to include the following:

  • the URL address of the institution,
  • the department (for example, chemical engineering, electronic engineering) where the program is offered, and
  • a brief description of the program of study.

Undergraduate or graduate degree programs in science or engineering specifically for packaging

UW Stout:  Offers a bachelor of science degree in Packaging. This package leads to interesting, challenging, and rewarding careers in package printing; business and sales; foods and packaging;package graphic design; manufacturing and quality management; or package design, research and development.

TASK 3: Develop an idea for a new science and/or engineering degree program that might emerge given the advancements in scientific knowledge that the team has identified. Provide a title and 100-word description of this new degree program.

Recycling Engineering Program (REP)

Taking REP, you’ll learn the basics about plastic's problems over a long period of time. You’ll look at different parts of the world to see how much harm has been done. You’ll learn about how the problems started and how people have tried to fix them in the past up until today.

Also, you can learn about how people in the present and future should work so they can prevent and end the plastic issues that have been caused. You will be able to work with others to find environment safe materials to replace plastic.
