FREE Adult Book Swap
Trade the books you have for the books you want!

FREE Children's Book & Video Swap

Refresh your preschool book and video library. Parents bring your preschoolers' gently used books, CDs, DVDs and VHS tapes to Oak View Middle School from 9-11 am. Then select your new items at 11:30.


Workshops throughout the day:

  • Container Gardening - Don't have space for a vegetable or herb garden?  Garden Expert Chuck Levine will share some ideas on how you too can grow some healthful vegetables and herbs in pots, on your decks or even on your windowsill. First 25 participants in each session will receive a plant to take home.

  • Getting Fit with Martial Arts - Taekwondo is a Korean Martial Art taught worldwide. It is the largest Martial Art learned and is so popular it is an Olympic Sport. TKD training develops important life skills and focuses on healthy lifestyles.
  • Fitting in Fitness - Whether it’s at work, home or in our social circles, time is something that there never seems to be enough of! Come rejuvenate yourself with this quick energizing session on how to fit fitness and balance into your everyday routine at the home or in the office.
  • Nutrition in our Schools - Learn about and sample some of the healthy new additions to the Anoka-Hennepin Child Nutrition Program. Food items actually served in school lunch will be prepared and offered to taste. Recipes downsized to be used at home will also be available.
  • Get a Grip on Stress - Everyone deals with stress on a daily basis; Chemical, Physical, and Mental Stressors...it’s everywhere! However, not everyone knows the devastating effects that stress has on their body. Stress is inevitable, but overcoming the negative effects of stress is something that you can learn to incorporate into your daily life. With the ability to adapt and deal with stress, not only are you going to feel better, but your body is also going to be functioning at its optimum!
