Hello teachers, parents and students! 

Being able to read sight words, also known as star words, high frequency words, word-wall words and more, is very important to the success of all readers.  On this page you will see four lists of words that children need to be able to read easily and quickly. 

I have included an audio file for each list so students can listen to me read the words while they follow along.  You may want to print out the chart.  My goal is that students will be able to read each word correctly within three seconds. 

Have students read through the words.  They can write the words into sentences, draw illustrations that depict the words, close their eyes and visualize how to spell the word or be given a standard spelling test by a partner.  Flash cards will also help with those tricky words.  Thank you so much for your support!
