Bullying Prohibition and Harassment, Discrimination and Violence Policies
Revised Jan. 9, 2012
What you need to know:
The revised policy is based on a new model policy from the Minnesota Department of Education. It ensures compliance with new provisions in federal law. The biggest change is that the district will hire a district-level position to monitor complaints of harassment from students and ensure they are resolved. The policy also has greater detail on the district's commitment to prevent harassment or discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender stereotypes.
Bullying Prohibition and Harassment, Discrimination and Violence Policies
Revised Oct. 25, 2010
What you need to know: Two important policies about school safety were revised to name all of the protected classes covered by the policies. These classes were cited in other district policies, however this revision made it clear which groups of people have specific protection from discrimination and harassment. Of course, harassment of any person for any reason is prohibited in the Anoka-Hennepin School District.
