The College-Level Examination Program® is a College Board program that allows students to earn college credit by demonstrating their mastery of college-level material in introductory subjects.
CLEP exams test mastery of college-level materials acquired in a variety of ways- such as through general academic instruction, significant independent study, or extracurricular work.
Rigorous preparation through an advanced high school course and/or supplemental self study is suggested and recommended.
CLEP exams are available in subject areas for which there are no equivalent AP exams at the high school level, such as pre-calculus, college algebra, sociology, human growth and development, education psychology and five exams in business related subjects.
