Specialization Schools Study - Conducted in conjunction with University of Minnesota

The Curriculum Specialization Project for grades four and five is an instructional delivery model intended to increase student achievement in math, science, reading, and social studies.  Additionally, its purpose is to address teacher workload issues, increase teacher knowledge of core subject areas, and positively impact student learning given the greater subject area capacity of the teachers.  The first year of the project, 2005-2006, included four schools, the second year, 06-07, added four more, and the fourth year, 08-09, is increasing to twelve schools participating.  Additional schools may join this curriculum delivery model in the future.
