Lettering Requirements
  1. In order to letter, you must display a Commitment to the Sport and to the Team.  This means working hard in practice, being a positive role model and supporting fellow teammates during competitiion.  In addition, you must meet at least one of the criteria listed below.
  2. POINT SYSTEM
    Athletes earning a minimum of 25 points throughout the season will be awarded a letter. Points are earned in the following manner:
    • Attendance and work ethic (1 point/week, 12 points maximum)
    • Points earned for the team in meet competition
    • 4 x 400 relay participation (1 point/meet)
    • Shot put and discus athletes who participate in a non-throwing event (1 point/meet)
    • 1/2 point/week (3 points maximum) can be earned for assisting with middle school track instruction
  3. Athletes scoring in an individual event in the conference meet will be awarded a letter
  4. Members of a relay team placing 3rd or higher in the conference meet will be awarded a letter
  5. Athletes who participate in individual events at the section meet will be awarded a letter
  6. Members of a relay team placing 4th or higher at the section meet will be awarded a letter
  7. Athletes who work multiple meets s volunteer workers will be awarded a letter
  8. Meeting any of the standards listed below during the season
