2011-2012 LETTERING REQUIREMENTS

To earn a Nordic Skiing letter at Anoka High School, team members must complete both of the following requirements:

1. Earn a minimum of 5 points from each of the three general categories of letter points
2. Earn a total of at least 30 points or finish the season as one of the top seven skiers

GENERAL LETTERING CATEGORIES

1. ATTENDENCE
   Team members must have exceptional attendence for practices and meets.  Multiple absences will not be tolerated.  One-half point will be earned for each week of perfect attendence.
   MAXIMUM POINTS = 6
2. PERSONAL GROWTH
   Team members must demonstrate good attitudes and desire to improve.  They need to be team players, making a positive contribution to the team while showing respect for teammates and coaches.  This should translate into individual progress or improvement.  This is subjective, however it will be obvious to self, team members, and coaches.  Team members will be rated on a scale of 1-10 and letter points will correspond to the rating.
   MAXIMUM POINTS = 10
3. MEET PERFORMANCE
   Team members will earn letter points based on individual placement in ski meets according to the following criteria:
   • REGULAR SEASON MEETS
     6 points will be earned for being the top Anoka skier, 5 points for the second fastest...down to 1 point for being the sixth skier.  One point will also be awarded for each of the opponents top six skiers that you place ahead of.
   • RELAY MEETS AND INVITATIONAL MEETS
     The top six Anoka skiers will receive points according to the regular season meets system.  However, opponents will not be considered for lettering points.
4. COACHES DISCRETION
