Family or Medical Leave of Absence
A Family or Medical Leave of Absence may be requested by eligible employees for the birth of the employee's child; placement of a child with the employee for adoption or foster care; the employee's need to care for a child, spouse, or parent who has a serious health condition; or an employee's inability to perform the functions of his/her position because of a serious health condition. Please see the FMLA Notice to Employees for specific eligibility, expectations, and obligations regarding the Family or Medical Leave Act.

Each employee groups' contract or terms and conditions of employment contain additional information regarding FMLA and other leaves of absence. Please reference the appropriate contract for additional information.

Sick Leave/Personal Leave
Employees of the Anoka-Hennepin Schools are provided Sick Leave and Personal Leave based on their employment contract. Employees should carefully consult their appropriate contract to determine their eligibility for the sick leave days as well as how to apply the appropriate reasons for each type of absence. Contact Labor Relations & Benefits with specific questions.

Dock Days
With management approval, employees may elect to request a limited number of days of unpaid days off. If approved, the employee's pay and benefits (holidays, sick leave, vacation) and the employer's contributions to insurance will be deducted.

Jury Duty/Military Leave
The Anoka-Hennepin School District complies with all state and federal regulations regarding leaves of absence for jury duty and military leave.
