Grading Scale

Students' grades are compiled from many assignments, projects, labs, frequent quizzes , and assessments . Please read below how categories affect the final grade.

Assessments - 85% (Based on learning targets, students can earn opportunities to re-take tests)

Practice - 5%

Trimester Final - 10%

The practice category may consist of homework assignments, classwork, labs, or even projects.  All assignments in this category have a purpose of allowing students to practice using and applying concepts to a variety of situations in order to eliminate misconceptions and being able to learn from any mistakes.

What to know....

1.  Homework assignments can be found in students' work logs (highlighted), and on A-H Connect in the list of graded and ungraded assignments labeled upcoming grade/assignment.  Students should be bringing their work logs home on a daily basis for the adults at home to see what is happening at school as well as any homework assignments have been given.

2.  If students are having a hard time understanding assignments or concepts covered in class it is critical that they let me know.  I am available by email, phone, or in the morning before school every morning at 7:30.
