Congratulations to our BHSMarch 2013-Student of the Month
Madeleine Huisinga (12) Music Maddie is the co-principal cellist in the BHS Concert Orchestra and chamber Orchestra, and this year she will be featured as a soloist in music by Vicaldi and Faure. She was a member of the state and school district middle level Honors Orchestras, and was selected for the 2012 All-Conference Orchestra. Maddie has been very active in extra-curricular activities such as Solo and Ensemble Contest, Pit Orchestra and Madrigal Strings. She is an outstanding musician and she is also well regarded as a leader among her peers. Kyle Swanson (12) Agriculture Kyle is a very respectful young man. He takes his agriculture education seriously. He has been successful academically in Zoology, Animal Science and Floral Design. He works well with others, cooperates with his teacher and through his own quiet way serves as a role model for other students. Abby Stepanek (11) Math Abby was such a great student to have in class. She was so kind and helpful to anyone around her. That is a quality you wish all students could learn and understand. Abby also turned in every single assignment in the class. She also took the time to go one step further and complete extra credit assignments. Abby finished off her probability and statistic class with over 100%. She put in great time and effort to get to that grade, and in the end it paid off greatly. I hope to have her in class again so I can enjoy her positive attitude and outlook on life. She has set herself up to succeed in her senior year of high school and in the college that she chose to go to. I look forward to hearing about the things she has accomplished or done in her years to come. Keep up the great work Abby!! Ms. Olson Adam is being honored for his extraordinary participation, community building, volunteerism, and classroom citizenship. Zach is a joy to have in class! He is not only a superior language student, but also takes it upon himself to encourage and support others with a mature patience that never condescends. He confidently and constantly uses Spanish in class providing an excellent model of participation, and asks questions to further his understanding. Edwin Olmedo (10) Health Edwin is an extremely hard worker and a very positive young man. He always has a smile and is willing to share it with friends and classmates. He is a very genuine person who asks questions and helps his classmates and friends when they need it. I think Edwin has a very bright future ahead of him. If he puts his mind to it, he can accomplish anything!! Kayla Hoover (12) Social Studies Kayla is very deserving of this recognition and displays many of the core values that we wish to see in students. I especially appreciate how she is easily amused in class. Marissa is an exemplary example of a business student. She is always working hard and striving for her best in each and every class. Not only is Marissa hard working but she is also a team player which will help her in her future career field of Marketing. Lauren has been a hard worker in class. Lauren also has good leadership qualities and works well with others in a team setting. Judson Strangler (11) CEMS Judson is a self-motivated student with a good work ethic. He is not afraid to learn the “hard” topics. He has a pleasant attitude, is very respectful and always willing to help out fellow students. Maya Johnson (12) Family & Consumer Science Maya is a responsible student, well-rounded individual, great positive leader and a hard worker. We love to have her around and enjoy her great attitude. I wish all students were like her. We love FACS groupies!
Julie Nguyen (12) Art Julie consistently creates high quality artwork. She recently received a first place ribbon at the Blaine City Teen Art Show. She will attend Minneapolis Business College to study Web Design next year.
