How to Apply for Free and Reduced Meals
Students, who qualify by either completing a new application each school year or by Direct Certification from the state, may receive free or reduced priced breakfasts and lunches. Applications are mailed to each household in the school district in early August. However, you may apply throughout the year at any school or by contacting the Child Nutrition Office at 763-506-1240. We follow strict nondiscrimination rules to protect a student's confidentiality. A child's eligibility status will not be released for any other purpose unless a parent or guardian requests the release in writing.

You can re-apply anytime during the school year if your household circumstances change. A new application may be obtained from the school office, the school cafeteria or to apply online Click here .

The State of Minnesota provides the Child Nutrition office with information regarding families receiving MFIP (Minnesota Family Investment Plan) benefits or food stamps which  makes the students receiving these benifits automatically eligible for free meals.  We receive this information in July and again in December.  If you do not receive a letter from our office that you are eligible for free meals, an application must be completed.

If you did not receive a form and you believe that your family income may be within the guidelines for the program, you may request an application from your school or from the school district's Child Nutrition Program Department by calling (763) 506-1240.
