ADHD is a medical diagnosis that can only be determined by a physician. Students that have ADHD should not be considered lazy or stupid. What they are is smart, active, students. Below are some characteristics a student with ADHD may seem to exhibit:
* Short attention spans
* Problems with organization
* Fail to pay attention to detail
* Unable to maintain attention
* Have trouble listening even when spoken to directly
* Fail to finish their work
* Make lots of mistakes
* Fidget and squirm
* Have difficulty staying seated
* Talk too much
* Have trouble taking turns in games or activities
* Interrupt or intrude on others
There are several categories of ADHD and students identified with ADHD may only seem to exhibit a few of these characteristics.
