Type fonts were selected for their value as shapes. Students used their initials or the negative spaces around the initials to generate forms for their relief sculptures. Forms were cut out of gator board, primed, painted and mounted on particle board that was also primed and painted. Bronze, gold, silver or brass acrylic painted was selected for coloration. An acrylic seal was used to finish the surfaces. |
