Avid Program Information
AVID [Advancement via Individual Determination] is a nationally recognized program is now offered at CRHS. This link with take you to the AVID's homepage. Students in each cohort (by grade) take a normal class schedule with an AVID class as an elective. During this class they learn study skills, purposeful note taking, organization, classroom communication, and receive tutoring. They also learn to prepare for college as all participants are expected to be college bound. With this extra support students are expected to challenge themselves by taking more rigorous courses. AVID students across the nation outperform other high school graduates in college completion rates. We expect the same for our participants. Credit Recovery
Students who struggle with a core subject may not earn a passing grade. More concerning, they may not learn essential skills needed to advance their education in high school and beyond. Credit Recovery is a two part program that provides assistance and gets students back on track. It offers the opportunity to earn a passing grade in a subject where they had previously failed. The school day program takes place as a regular class period. The after-school program is operated through the ISD #11 Area Learning Center, Crossroads, but is housed in CRHS from 2:35 pm until 4:00 pm Monday through Thursdays. To learn more about Credit Recovery or to get involved please contact your counselor - www.anoka.k12.mn.us/crhsguidance
