Answers
1)  Q What are the rules for creating my password for my district user account?
A
  • Minimum of 8 characters
  • May not contain your first or last name
  • Must include both letters and numbers
  • Must include both one upper and one lower case letter
  • Must contain at least one OF THESE special characters (these ONLY): { } - _ . ~ ! @ # $ ^ & * + = [ ] | : ; < , > ? /
  • May not include more than 4 repeating characters (aaaa, bbbb, etc)
  • May not match more than 4 characters from previous 4 passwords
  • We recommend you don't use dictionary words because they are easily hacked.
2)  Q I can't think of a secure password. Where can I get help?
A

3)  Q What factor determines whether (or not) a staff member receives an email account?
A

Staff receive an email account automatically if they are a teacher (full or part time), full-time para, or full time administrative or clerical staff.

For part-time para positions, we contact the building principal, who will decide whether that position will need and be able to maintain an email account.

If any staff member receives an email account, they also need to maintain a voice mail account. Both accounts come together.

4)  Q What is the account process? Why doesn't my staff member have an account the day they start work?
A

We make every effort to ensure that staff members are ready to start work the day they start. That said, we rely on employee data forms (EDFs) submitted to the Employee Services department from each building. Employee Services must verify certain information before we can process the EDF. Once that's done, we process the request and, most of the time, we can have accounts ready when staff members start work.

There are options for staff if they don't have their account ready the day they start. Building technology staff can provide the temporary staff accounts for this situation and the staff member will be able to log into the network, take attendance, and access the internet.

5)  Q What is the process for sending out a large post office mailing?
A

Any large mailing that is generated by a district building or department - this does not include mailings for community partners; that process is initiated through Community Education - needs to be submitted through the District mail room at the ESC.

Click here for the form. Submit the completed form with the document(s) to be mailed to Cathy Sunderman (Cathleen.Sunderman@anoka.k12.mn.us) at the ESC. Cathy can be reached by phone at extension 61012.

6)  Q I can't print to the ESC color printer copier. Who do I contact for help?
A
If you don't have a driver for that printer - the DNS name is esc-dup-ricoh - you need to contact Desktop Services at 61440.

If you have a driver installed for that printer and still can't print, check the settings to ensure you have entered an access code - that code would be the copier code you'd use when making copies at that copier.

If you're still having trouble after checking the settings, call 61440.
7)  Q When I change my password, what other applications' passwords change?

  2. Destiny
  3. DPRS
  4. Mastery Manager
  5. Moodle
  6. myView
  7. School Center
  8. Synergy (Student Information System)
