WELCOME ! Join the Boys Swim and Dive Team ! NO ! ! ! You do not need to wear a speedo swim suit NO ! ! ! You do not need to shave your body hair All 7th and 8th grade Jackson Middle School Boys and all Champlin Park High School Boys are ENCOURAGED TO JOIN THE TEAM ! + You do not need to be involved in Club swimming! We encourage both club swimmers and non-club swimmers to join the team. + No certain level of swimming required. We will take you where you are at, and move you forward. + Our season runs from the first Monday after Thanksgiving until early March. + Practices are at Jackson Middle School after school from 3:30pm until 5:30pm. + Swimmers must have current physical on file at H.S. Athletic office, the form available on-line under Activities. + Athletic fees due before the first practice on November 30 in the C.P.H.S. Athletic Office. Reduced fees are vailable to those who qualify. + Swimming/diving is highly a individualized TEAM sport. You will learn all the stroke styles and events, but will not swim all of them all the time. Some events are relays with 4 boys taking turns in 1 lane - very fun! + Everyone concentrates on improving their own time, which will improve the team's total score at meets. + Divers compete in the same swim meet with the level of difficulty on each dive judged on a point system. + Swimming/diving is a good lifetime sport which is often a conditioning activity for other sports, or for a non-impact alternative. + Boys on the team represent a wide variety of personalities, background, interests, and scholarly pursuits. Many of them would not otherwise get to know one another outside of the sport, and this enriches their High School experience. + Use the contact page if you would like more information.
