Anoka High School Theatre presents, "The Pirates of Penzance" Jan. 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28 at 7:30 p.m. at Anoka High School, 3939 Seventh Ave. N., Anoka.
A fresh take on one of Gilbert and Sullivan's most popular comic operas, this updated version of The Pirates of Penzance took New York by storm when it premiered in Central Park in 1980.
Wacky, irreverent and as entertaining today as it was when it first opened in 1879, The Pirates of Penzance spins a hilarious farce of sentimental pirates, bumbling policemen, dim-witted young lovers, dewy-eyed daughters and an eccentric Major-General, all morally bound to the often ridiculous dictates of honor and duty.
Music by Sir Arthur Sullivan. Book and lyrics by Sir William Gilbert. Produced in special arrangements with Music Theatre International.
Tickets are $8 for students and seniors and $10 for adults. Order your tickets today: all seats reserved. Call 763-506-6439 or visit: www.anokatheatre.org to order tickets or for more info.
