Hurray!! It's New Rug Day! We love our new, clean, fresh smelling rug!

This morning we read my new favorite book, How Full is Your Bucket? by Tom Rath and Mary Reckmeyer.

It is about the invisible bucket we each have. When our bucket is full, we feel great. When it is empty, we feel awful. In this book the little boy, Felix, begins to see how every thing that happens during his day from interactions with parents, classmates and teachers either fills or empties his bucket. It also describes how Felix can influence other people's buckets based on how he treats them.

I LOVE the way this story has ALREADY changed our classroom climate and how we feel about each other!

Your kiddos drew themselves with an imaginary bucket over their heads to remind them of this story. Be sure to look for this drawing and ask them what it's all about...

I'll be blogging some bucket moments a little later as I observe how we use it in the class.
