Anoka-Hennepin Community Education has hosted Community Wellness Day as a free, educational opportunity for families and individuals in the school district and surrounding communities to learn more about good health and to practice healthy lifestyles.
Saturday, January 24
9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Jackson Middle School
6000 109th Ave. N
Community Wellness Day is an excellent example of community education partnerships in action! Sponsors and community education staff work to bring community resources together, by offering educational demonstrations, flu and pneumonia vaccinations, keynote presentations, blood pressure and cholesterol screenings, and open swim opportunities. Workshops focus on cooking, exercise, nutrition, fitness, stress management, and family activities – to name a few.
With the belief that wellness is more than the absence of illness, Community Wellness Day strives to provide an environment that supports the nutritional and physical well‐being of those who live, work, and play in the community.
